Back in August I was booked to exhibit at the Bakewell show, a great little show right in the middle of the town. When I was within twenty minutes of the showground I received a phonecall saying my marquee was flooded and I would not be able to exhibit! The option was to turn around and drive back down the A1 or visit the North West and photograph some stadiums ...the North West won!
I immediately rang Oldham Athletic to see if I could photograph Boundary park the following morning. They were playing a Manchester United reserve side that night so was worried they would be too busy to talk to me ...I was so wrong! Not only did they agree but they offered me a press pass for that evenings game! It was my first opportunity to capture a game, I enjoyed every moment with United winning 1.0. They offered me a chance to photograph another game ...Hmmm Southend next February please if anyone from Oldham Athletic reads this!
The next few days went just as smoothly with me photographing the homes of Fleetwood, Morecambe, Blackpool, AFC Fylde, Carlisle and Mansfield on my way home. A great few days which could not of happened without the co-operation of the clubs .. thank you!
That is now 88 grounds photographed out of the 92, only Crawley, MK Dons, Coventry and Forest Green left! I'm sure I'll let you know when I've done them!
